Tafi Atome Monkey Sanctuary
Tafi Atome Monkey Sanctuary Ho Reviews
Jun 30, 2006
If you're going to the monkey sanctuary, make sure you come early to be able to catch the monkeys. We left Ho at 5am to make sure we got there when the monkeys were still out and about.
It seemed like we were walking down a path to the middle of nowhere until our guides Patrick and Sylvester suddenly started making prolonged, kissing noises. Then there they were! Emerging from the forest and sitting on the trees above us where dozens of monkeys!
You're given half a banana to feed the monkeys, so they come right up to you and take the banana from your hand. Be sure to hold on tight for them to eat it, otherwise they'll pull hard and run up the tree to hoard it to themselves! They weren't afraid to steal banana bits from other monkeys as well!
The sanctuary also has great trails to walk along. Walk with your guide through the beautifully green rainforest.
It's still early by the time you're out of there! A great place to spend the rest of the day is Wli falls, about a 45 minute drive from the sanctuary.
