Great views from the top! Jun 11, 2002
Located in Sams Valley just north of Medford east of Interstate 5 is Table Rock. It used to be a sanctuary for Takelma Indians, and actually there are two Table Rock mesas, an upper Table Rock and a Lower Table Rock. Upper Table Rock is a bit shorter and slightly easier to hike. Both are open all year and No fee to hike them. Upper Table rock has a 2.8 mile easy trail but there is a steep section at about the one mile point where you will rise about 720 feet. This trail is rated easy but you should take care, especially in summer months. And they do not allow animals, pets, fires and flower picking. The Lower Table Rock trail is a little longer and rockier and climbs through a shady wooded area. The views from the top of both are quite spectacular.
