Taberna Queirolo Lima Reviews
A traditional tavern full of history and charm - Antigua Taberna Queirolo Jun 09, 2010
The Queirolo Tavern is an institution in Lima. They have 2 locations, one near the Main Square in downtown and the other in the historical area of Pueblo Libre. Maybe Pueblo Libre is not part of your list of places to visit, but a detour to this place is worth it.
As its name suggests, they serve drinks and food. Queirolo produces their own Pisco, our national liquor. And they offer some pisco cocktails, actually their pisco sour was chosen the best one year ago. But the highligh is the "Res" which is a bottle of Pisco, a bottle of ginger ale and some limes to fix your own Chilcano, very good idea!
Also they serve tasty and home made Peruvian food. You need to eat something if you are drinking or just if you want a snack. But they offer set lunches too at reasonable prices.
The atmosphere of this place is awesome! It looks like a 16th Century tavern, with nostalgic photos of Lima hanging on the walls. Although Pueblo Libre is a bit chilly in winter time and despite the high ceilings, nobody is cold here. I think it's because of the pisco power!
I recommend this place to experience the real Lima and enjoy a tasty and classic Pisco Sour :)
