Angelina's temple Mar 24, 2010
Everyone knows this temple after thinking of Angkor Wat and possibly Angkor Thom and Bayon. This is the temple where the Tomb Raider film was shot, and consequently, the actual name seems to be less important these days as its incredibly common to refer to the temple as Angelina Jolie temple or Tomb Raider temple. I really enjoyed seeing the overgrown nature of the trees and greenery here, as you still get a good sense of what Mouhot must have encountered when he came across the complex in the nineteenth century. The large trees which envelop and cluster the stonework are ironically acting as its saviour these days too - apparently they have helped the temple to keep their structure and removing them now would cause more damage than good. This was a really amazing temple after the other famous temples mentioned before, and is an essential pit stop for anyone visiting the complex.
