Ta Liontaria (The Lions Square) Jul 08, 2009
The Lions in Heraklion is the ornate Venetian fountain with four lions with water gushing from their mouths. The inhabitants of the city never use the official name, usually referring to it as the Lions Square or the Lions (Liontaria) for short.

The fountain with the lions is one of the most important monuments the Venetians bestowed on Heraklion.

Its one of the most attractive points of the city, specially in the nights with its gold gold coloured lights. During the day its used by the pigeons and other street animals to drink water and to have a shower specially the hot summer times:)

Its a good meeting point for everyone..its surrounded with nice cafe and restaurants.
