TV Mountain

Kabul is perhaps the only city in the world that has a mountain jutting up in the very center. Not a hill, a mountain. TV Mountain towers over the downtown area, and has forced the city to grow in a donut around it. The views from the top of TV mountain are unsurpassed anywhere in the world. As planes fly past, below where you stand, you will understand the strategic importance of this summit, and the reason that thousands of rockets were fired at this location. So, when you go to the top of the mountain, stay on well-marked paths since there are still land mines and unexploded ordanances despite years of demining work.
