Atop the Texas Sunset Apr 17, 2010
TRIO is a high-energy restaurant with clean, contemporary lines and a striking color palette that makes you think you are sitting under a Texas sunset. That was kind of corny, yes? It has vibrant décor, accented by high tasting tables and a dramatic floor-to-ceiling wine wall near the entry. All of these wines are so good. My friend Jan, who is the manager, will be the first to tell you just how great all of his wines are. You will not be disappointed. They have all these natural wood floors, textured wall coverings, rich mahogany tabletops and a distinctive collection of wine-inspired artwork. I sat at the bar and during what they call happy hour and enjoyed a flight around the world. The wines were so good and they went great with the atmosphere, the people and the food. The food they served during the happy hour was right on. I enjoyed the trio of sliders that included a ground lamb burger. The potato wedges and dips were well seasoned and served in an interesting dish. Everything about the place screamed, relax and enjoy. The windows overlooking the lake makes for a romantic evening.

TRIO’s menu is built around the classics – prime steaks, fresh seafood and fine wine. They use a lot of local and seasonal ingredients which ensures only the freshest, most flavorful dishes. The extensive wine list offers more than 300 bottles and 60 wines by the glass. The do serve a Sunday brunch that is served buffet style that includes eggs Benedict; carving, griddle and omelets stations; fresh seafood and salads; traditional breakfast selections; and a decadent dessert bar. I promise you that you will not be disappointed if you took some time out to enjoy dinning here.
