T-Rex Cafe Mar 02, 2009
If you like the Rainforest Cafe, you will enjoy eating at the T-Rex Cafe. The T-Rex cafe is owned by the same people, with one obvious difference - instead of being in the middle of a rainforest, at T-Rex you are transported back in time to the age of the dinosaurs. Currently, there are only two T-Rex locations that are open: in Kansas City, kanses, and at Downtown Disney in Orlando, Florida.

I visited the Downtown Disney location in February 2009. Since there was a long line (as to be expected) if an hour and 1/2 wait time for a table, we decided to sit at the bar and order our food there. The restaurant was clean, and the speed of the service was acceptable, given the amount of patrons in the establishment.

As in the Rainforest Cafe, TRex has many animatronics placed around the restaurant. Every 15 minutes or so, the animals begin to move, and twice an hour there is a meteor shower in the "sky".

The quality and the price of the food was good. The dishes have prehistoric names, such as the Bronto Burger, the Triassic Tortellini, and the Pteradactyl Salad. The desserts were appetizing (The Meteor Bites looked and smelled delicious), but I didn't have the room in my stomach to order them!

If you are in the area and are looking for a themed restaurant that is different, I suggest you check out the T-Rex Cafe.
