T-Hotel Kuala Lumpur Reviews
Simple budget hotel by the nightlife Jun 12, 2014
T-Hotel, as it sounds like "Tune Hotel", is NO way related to each other.
T-Hotel is one of the simple budget hotels in the popular area of Bukit Bintang, close to the Bukit Bintang monorail station of Kuala Lumpur. This hotel is not directly accessible from KLIA/KLIA 2 by train, however, the fastest way is to get on to the KL express airport train to KL Sentral and then take the KL Sentral monorail (about 10mins walk to the station) or a short taxi ride for about RM12-15 depending on the traffic.
This hotel is along the busy Jalan Bukit Bintang, one of the famous roads for the nearby hawker food paradise, international restaurants, nightlife, spa, modern malls, shopping, hotels and hostels. Mostly everything can be found within few minutes walk. There are many budget hotels along that side and some touts outside the small hotels were selling rooms on discounted rates by showing the room photos!
It was little bit hard to locate the hotel since the taxi driver was not aware of this specific hotel, however, it was only few minutes walk from monorail station to the hotel. Traffic looked bad during peak hours and also because of some road work.
The hotel is a 6 floor building with transparent glass doors and a small entrance. There is a money changer once entered the hotel and next to that is the front desk and an elevator. I did not see any seating area/lobby.
The staff seem to be friendly and was able provide information/tips about the area. They were even flexible upgrading to a window room for no extra cost when I disliked the room they first gave me!
The room I reserved through agoda.com was for a single bed room no window, one of the least expensive bed type rooms. However, I was lucky and got a free upgrade for the same room type with window and view during check-in. The room was very compact for a single bed with very little moving space around the bed, but the good thing is that it had enough side space for the luggage. Just imagine being on a spacious first class berth train cabin!!!
There is nothing fancy one can expect, other than a small normal bed with reasonably clean sheets and pillow, wall mounted LCD TV, bed side phone, nice and quiet air condition, free wi-fi (had to call for help few times since it was not working well, but it was fixed right away), corner stand with few coffee supplies, bath towel, shampoo, shower gel and clean titled floor.
The big plus is that hotel gives one extra smaller key card to keep the air conditioning running by inserting it into the power socket. This was very helpful in order to maintain the room temperature, otherwise the room gets too hot.
The only thing I did not like about is the bathroom..way too tiny and I can't imagine how tiny it can go further?? Literally no space in the shower area and when you turn around changes are, you may hit one thing or other! When taking shower you will also shower the washbasin, toilet, walls around..so everything gets cleaned at the same time!!!
Whatsoever, the toilet was clean, the bath floor was maintained well, instant water heater shower was working fine, housekeeping was done perfectly and did not face any safety issues.
This place should be OK for a night or two sleepovers. Since many things are about the walking distance apart from decent nightlife, I can recommend this hotel mostly for solo travelers, couples and travelers on short stopovers. I am not sure if this would be a best place for family travelers with kids.
