Syri 2 Guesthouse Reviews
Cheap and basic guesthouse with hard beds! Aug 21, 2008
The lobby gives a slightly false impression of this guesthouse, since it's in an old colonial building with high ceilings.
We went for a twin room with (standing) fan and shared bathroom. Relatively cheap and the room was quite big but rather spartan and depressing (no windows in our room). The main problem was that our beds were a bit too hard! Remember to check in all guesthouses! Shared bathrooms were clean and had hot water, and we got small towels. We had to pay in advance for our 2 nights and were glad to leave, especially since Vientiane is so quiet for a capital city! However, it was relatively cheap and we felt safe in here. I think there was a restaurant but we didn't use it (might have been closed for the off season), so we just ate at the Full Moon Cafe and the Sabadee Coffee House on Francois Ngin Road, one of the roads leading back to the Mekong.
