Swissôtel Zürich Reviews

For my stay in Zurich I had booked the Swissotel in Zurich. The hotel is situated some 25 sfr in a taxi from the city center of Zurich. It is defenitely a first-class superior hotel, because I had a excellent stay there.
The hotel is located in the district Oerlikon between Zurich Airport and the city centre. Zurich Oerlikon is the fastest growing business district and is within walking distance of the Zurich fair and exhibition hall "Messe Zürich", as well as the "Hallenstadion", Switzerland's most famous concert and sports venue hall. The area is pretty dull though if you are walking around at night, so then just go for a taxi. The hotel has 347 modern equipped rooms and suites. The room I had were very nice and I loved that it had every imaginable machine you could think of as a business travelar, I was especially happy about the coffee machine which was a real one and not the usual dipstick types. If I had some more time I would have visited there Amrita Fitness center on the 32nd floor. The pictures looked breathtaking with a panoramic view over the city and the surrounding mountains. I am not sure of the cost of this hotel because I stayed with my best friend, who is a Flight Attendant on a layover.
The room was clean and effecient, the view overlooked a building under construction and railroad. She said she usually stays in nicer rooms, complete with robes and slippers. I was happy with this one. They do have an airport shuttle with costs about 8 swiss francs and convenient times, and easy to find. I did almost get car sick due to the lack of air flow and roads and frequent turns, but that was my problem and I don't blame the hotel. The shuttle stops also at the Marriott. The shuttle doesn't have leg room on most of its seats, so try to get the front rows. You pay once you get to the hotel and you do reserve the return shuttle in advance. They state they have wireless internet thoughout the hotel, but they don't tell you they charge for it. They do have a Starbucks in the lobby for those of us who are addicted to Starbucks. The rooms have hair dryers, water kettles for tea and coffee and a refridgerator. There is Grocery Store (COOP) within walking distance, electric rail on the same street to take you directly down to the main part of the town. I would stay there again, as it was quiet, the staff friendly and the beds and pillow were very comfortable. |
