Sweetie Pie's At The Mangrove Reviews
BEST MAC AND CHEESE Oct 19, 2008
If you are a big fan of the FOOD NETWORK like me. this is one of Guy Fieri's restaurants he reviewed. he is from DINERS, DRIVE INS AND DIVES show. this year marks his 2 season in the show.
i dragged james(pearcetoyou) here to eat dinner after the RAMS VS. COWBOYS game. it was not that far from the airport. as soon as we walked in, it was a cafeteria style. it was a long line to start with. they are know for their mac and cheese. i love mac and cheese. they had all the traditional soul foods. mac and cheese. fried chicken, baked chicken, corn, sweet potatoes, collared greens, green beans, turkey, mash potatoes, ribs, and corn bread. WOW my mouth was watering. they had specials of the day. some days they would have fried catfish or halibut and special days with BBQ. the mac and cheese was very thick and creamy. the cheese was smooth and with a strong cheese flavor. i feel there are 3 different types of cheeses mixed in. that is way i like to make mine. the fried chicken was very good. this was breaded perfectly, not to thick and not too light. it was well cooked. i will definaltly come back here when i am in town. i will make it a annual event since my team is in ST.LOUIS *BIO* Robbie Montgomery's mac 'n' cheese is better than your mom's, but you don't have to tell Mom that. What she doesn't know won't hurt her, and this isn't even the first time you've cheated on her with your newfound sweetie pie, and it won't be the last. You tried to resist the allure of this affair, but you can't stop lining up for the best cafeteria-style buffet you've ever had in your life — impossibly, the same stuff former Ikette Robbie Montgomery cooked in an electric skillet set on top of a hotel-room dresser when she was touring with Ike and Tina Turner. But knowing Sweetie Pie's history just makes consummating your forbidden love more passionate. If your mom knew that a former celebrity was replacing her smothered pork chop's place in your heart, she'd be devastated. Just keep your watering crocodile mouth shut — and a Tide-to-Go instant stain remover handy for the telltale trace of Sweetie Pie's sugary yam sauce on your collar. The day started with a visit to the Courthouse. First, it was the dioramas on the Louisiana Purchase, then a room featuring a different time period in St. Louis history. There were 4, but I only visited 1, then had to leave for First Pitch at the st…… First Pitch |
