Sweet Mandarin Nov 06, 2010
Sweet Mandarin is a Chinese restaurant in the Northern Quarter of Manchester.

It aims to be more contemporary than a lot of Chinese restaurants, which means

that there is a shorter menu than lots of restaurants, and your favourites might

not be on it. This is possibly a good thing, because it means that you can try

new things.

The food is really well cooked. The seasoning and quality of ingredients is

great. I had volcano beef, which could have just tasted of hotness, but instead

had a lovely, fragrant taste. All the food we had was wonderful. The satay was

great, and the dumplings were light.

My only slight regret is that I had to rush off to the theatre and couldn’t stay

for the very interesting looking cocktails.

Dinner for two, with three starters to share and two main courses, and drinks,

came to about £50 altogether.

One does - one is a genius at getting £10 tickets and the friend I was with doesn't drink and did GCSE drama with me a squillion years ago when we were 16.
