Sweet Home Guesthouse Phnom Penh Reviews
Calming stay not far from the Riverside Mar 04, 2011
We were happy to stay in the Sweet Home for one month at the beginning of our stay in Phnom Penh. Located around ten minutes' walk from the Riverside and all of the restaurants and bars offered there, this guesthouse also has a small restaurant with good local fare (try the beef with peanut sauce, it's not to be sniffed at!).
The double we stayed in was fine in size; the mattress slightly hard but not distractingly so. The ensuite bathroom was a shower/toilet combination common in many Asian countries and equipped only with cold water. If wishing a bracing shower after the heat, guests will have no problem here.
There's also a cheap and useful laundry service, and the staff sell cold water and drinks from fizzy to beers in-house so you won't need to track down a mini-mart for them.
With Wi-fi in the rooms included in the price, and computer terminals with DSL connections near reception which could be used for $1 an hour, guests can go online easily. The guesthouse owner also organises tours, and visa extensions at a reasonable price for those hoping to stay longer.
Overall, a clean, quiet guesthouse with kind and helpful staff. In a great location, travellers on a budget couldn't go far wrong trying this place.
