Sweeney & Todd - Reading - TravBuddy

We call this place "The Pie Shop". It's a real traditional British place to go for dinner. They serve a great range of pies, and they also serve real ales and a decent cider on tap.

We've been going to this place for years, and gradually spreading the word to our friends. Everyone who goes along seems to love it, and wonder why they didn't know about it before. So I thought that I'd publicise it a bit further.

It's laid out a bit like a pub upstairs, although at the front there's a shop area where you can buy the pies to take home. In the basement there are a number of tables in various rooms and alcoves, complete with low ceilings and lots of beams all over the place. There's a random collection of odd pictures and plates hanging on the walls.

The staff are very friendly, and it makes for a very relaxing evening. Fashion and chic is most certainly is not. This is good old-fashioned honest English grub with a pint of proper English beer. Great for that authentic experience; this is real culture at work!
