Radisson SAS Royal Viking Hotel Stockholm
posted by:
Mar 16, 2008 - Mar 17, 2008
I took just a short trip to Stockholm. Came in late on Sunday and just settled in at the hotel. Next day I went for a walk around the Old Town and the Royal Palace. I had... umm.. kinda bad walking shoes (which seems to be typical for me.. lol), so after a while I had to stop at a shoestore and get some better walking shoes. And they were actually pretty good. :o) Walked around the Old Town and up to the Palace. I don't like Stockholm that much, but the Old Town are cool and reason enough to...

Sweden, that beautiful "snowy queen".I visited Stockholm and Eskilstuna, and even that winter was one of the coldest in last 15 years i enjoyed every moment in Stockholm, that "town on 14 islands",felt "kingly" in Royal palace, was frozen but charmed cruising on Baltic sea, and enjoyed in amazing cheese cake in sweet charming bar in old Gamlastan, imagining myself as sailor on great Vasa ship... smiled to crazy ducks on frozen lake in Eskilstuna...and was so happy with my old friends :-)

- Taxis from Ice Hotel to Kiruna town center are quite expensive (over 300 Kr). Oddly, the Ice Hotel sponsors taxis to the city center at 110 Kr a person but does not sponsor trips home.- Check out the local bus schedule for a 30 minute trip back from Kiruna town to the Ice Hotel for 20 kr.  Note the bus schedule! On Wednesday, last bus was at 5:30 pm!- Check out tours through http://www.lappland.se/scripts/gb/index.asp, much cheaper than the ice hotel - though you have to most likely be...

In januari this year I was reading the newspaper and saw that there where was a new destination to fly to from Eindhoven Airport....Stockholm Sweden. I thought...fantastic. Stockholm was one of my dream destination. So I bought the tickets. My boyfriend was very happy to and we booked a hotel in Stockholm. The Nordic Sea Hotel! Our tickets costed only 150 euro for 2 person. That's very cheap. The Hotel was expensive but for 4 days it was okay. We live in Veldhoven. Only five minutes drive f...

So today we did more of the same... hop on the bus hop off the bus.  it was a good day.  we woke up, walked to the grocery store and got bagels, juice, and other breakfast goods.  then we walked to the bus stop to catch the tour bus.  we took it all around the city and eventually got off at the stop that had a really cool open air market, was close to the library, and had lots and lots of good shops.  we perused the market, walked down the 'library street' looking at ...

A few days in Sweden
posted by:

So from the 26th - 29th June I went to Gothenburg, primarily for the Metaltown festival that was being held. First night I met up with my mates at the hotel who went out there early, checked in, found another mate who was coming, and didnt leave until we'd each had about 5 whiskeys. After finding food (or did we? I forget....) we went to the Rockbaren bar. This place is fucking brilliant. It's on 2 floors, each with plenty of crevices to sit in, blackjack/poker tables, places to dance ar...

The Ice Hotel Experience
posted by:
Jan 05, 2006
It’s the cold weather, the reindeer steak, hot lingonberry juice and the unreal sight of the Aurora Borealis that makes the experience of the Ice Hotel not just another routine night in a hotel, but a magical time to remember. The Ice Hotel is cool! Actually it’s not too bad, as inside on a warm day it sustains a temperature of about -5 C. When its -30 C outside, the inside temperature is only -7 C and it feels warm.First, about the whole travel experience: There is something really exciti...

Stockholm, is a magical city. In my limited vocabulary, i can't find a word that can describe its beauty, nevertheless, I believe no words can exist in any language to describe it... With open eyes one would dream. To every passing second one falls in love with water drops flowing with the current of the rivers, that hide fast in the Nordseedie, and disapear. At Night, the grace of Cafés and coldness, are calmly celebrated.I will never understand growing up in such a place. Sweden is a land ...

Malmö Sweden - Day 3
posted by:
Mar 10, 2007 - Mar 17, 2007
Since today was a Monday and almost musuem, palace and any other tourist attraction was closed, we decided it was a good day to see Malmö.  Back to Copenhagen Central train station we went to catch the train to Malmö.  A 35-minute train ride under water, across Öresund Bridge and I was officially able to add Sweden to my list of countries visited.  We had no real plans in Malmö, so we headed out to just wander and explore the city.  A few hours and several miles l...

Blondes have more fun!
posted by:
Jul 26, 2008 - Aug 16, 2008
I was first in Malmo and met up with TB Krille.  I didn't bring a camera to our meetup but we had some drinks  ;)  I also went swimming there at Kokkum Frittid and did about 500 metres worth of laps, so I did some healthy stuff as well.  Then I took the train to Stockholm and it was party party with the blonde girls.  It's true what they say that blondes do have more fun! As you'll see in the photos!  I met Kate, a Swedish girl from the site wayn.com.  We se...
