Swan Hotel Reviews
Nice quirky place to stay, a little on the expensive side Aug 20, 2009
From Staines bridge (leaving the town centre), The Swan Hotel just down a little road on the left.
It's a nice quirky place to stay, with bent walls and floors and the boards mostly creak when you walk on them. The pub tends to get full on Friday and Saturday nights, especially in summer. Then it can get a bit loud because people are sitting outside facing the Thames river just below where half of the guests have their windows. And the Brits do not seem to be quiet drinkers! Rooms are generally good, some obviously bigger than others - a few are generously large and others have just enough room for the bed and a bit of walking space. Breakfast is included and consists of a traditional English fry-up complete with Black Pudding. For what it is I think it's a little on the expensive side, especially because they charge per person, not per room. It's average for British hotels I guess but a bit much for my liking. |
