This Backpackers was one of the best hostels we stayed in New Zealand!
We payed 90 NZ$ for one week which is a little bit expensive for just parking in the parking lot and using all the facilities. That means we slept in our van and did use the bathroom, kitchen... But I think it was worth it. The atmosphere of this hostel is just awesome! They regularly organize nice meetings or small partys.When we stayed there we celebrated the birthday of one of the owners. He was a Maori so we had a traditional Maori meal ,,Hangi´´which we helped to prepare.One day we ate selfmade sushi, shark and the famous Paua shells. Blenheim is a good stop if you're looking for work, because otherwise there is not much to do. This hostel is not anonymous at all and you easily get in contact with other backpackers. The one week was a lot of fun! |
