Svevo E Joyce

I booked Svevo E Joyce using the contact details from their website via email. The photos on their website are true to form, the furniture and the decor all look very authentic.

The rooms and the foyer were all lovely. The kitchen is small and self service with the coffee/tea making and some pre-packaged pastries. Breakfast was not very appealing, but you could bring your own goods in and use the facilities if you desire.

We had a private bathroom which was 2 hallways away and required a separate key. It was a little strange and I'm not sure it was standard. I think a closer bathroom was under repair. There was painting and repair on the Friday night we were there which was a little odd but we weren't there much so it didn't bother us.

The location was great, just outside of the harbour and off a street with many restaurants.

Overall it was a cheap B&B with an old Italian feel that was very authentic. The breakfast was dire, the beds and pillows were hard and flat and the layout of the B&B was a little off due to the shape of the building. It was good value for the locale and the price though so if you aren't shooting for luxury but want some character do check it out.
