26th June: I left home after a fantastic 4 weeks catching up with everyone. It really was one of the best few weeks I’ve had at home in years, probably because so many people are sewing roots back home in Sunny Norn Iron. You all know who you are!! 3 weeks in Northern Norway - Tromsø and North Cape.. And then - an impulse decision: Svalbard - 78° N! After two weeks of rain, rain, rain we needed to experience something different. I love the arctic climate and nature - so why not spend a few days on Svalbard?! It was a great experience!!

Village de Longyearbyen, ile de Spitsbergen, archipelle de Svalbard.  Latitude: 78.16 degres nord.  Longitude: rien a foutre.  Difficile d'etre dans un endroit lpus isole dur la planete.  Et c'est exactement ou j'ai decide d'aller.  Pourquoi?  Ceux qui me connaissent assez savent pourquoi.  La reponse est:  Pourquoi pas.  Aussi simple que ca. 8th July: The last evening in Virgohamna was fantastic. Once again we are so lucky with the weather at present. Anchor up again and on the move, the plan being a passage to Woodfjorden which is on the north coast of Spitsbergen. This was to be the most memorable day of the trip by far. Everyone was starting to wonder if Mr. Polar bear would show his face at all. Our guide told us that basically the further north we are to go the more chance we have of spotting one. Well where do i start i left NZ to work on the most famous ocean liner in the world "QE2", i worked as a sales assistant.. which was "sweet as" we only opened at sea, so every country we went to i got to see! IN FACT this was the best 6mnths of my LIFE onboard this beautful old ship!! i met thousands of people, i saw many countrys and drank most nights! there were partys like u have never seen b4!!
