Suzdal Vacation Guide
Suzdal is part of the Golden Ring of cities in Russia, is a quiet country town, small but with lots of interesting monasteries and beautiful churches to visit.
The white building in the picture is inside the Kremlin and there's an interesting museum too as well as a wonderful restaurant, the Trapeznia. The wooden church in the picture was moved there from somewhere and no nails or metal fixings were used in its construction.
Across the small river there's an interesting museum about life in old Russia which is a collection of old village houses and buildings brought in piece by piece from other villages and rebuilt.
Interesting town square with lots of souvenir stalls, pick up some bargains. If going by bus beware the bus station is a long walk from the centre, a good 15-20 minutes.

Suzdal one of so-called Golden Ring towns (around Moscow) and played an important role in Russian history. It takes approx. 5 hours to get there from Moscow (through Vladimir) and your first impression when you enter the town is: "Where the hell am I?" It's kind of a shock when you come from Moscow…

Moscow, Russia -› Suzdal, Russia -› …
We left Moscow and started 'The Golden Ring', ancient Russian towns with a great history.
