Surfing at black stone bay, Ilan

Black stone bay in Ilan,the middle east coast of Taiwan, is an excellent spot for surfing. At the beach, you face the great Pacific Ocean and the Turtle Island from sea level at the outside of the outer ring of water. In this kind of unique attraction, lots of surfers come from many countries. And the temp. is convenient at all seasons due to Taiwan at the subtropics. The waves here (average 2 meters high) are usually stable and suit for beginner/novice. Some weekends, I usually invite some new friends to go surfing there (I'll teach them of course).

If you like to go surfing but you are in Taipei. Don't worry. It won't take you too much money. You just have to take the train to Toucheng and cost you about NTD 250 (USD 7.5) by return, and then call the boss Song-Ge (mobile: 0933104133). They will take you to the beach. What if I don't have board? Relax~ Hiring a board all day only takes you NTD 500 (USD 15) there (totally NTD 800/USD 32 including lunch). Further more, you can enjoy delicious food at the nearby night market called Luodong night market during the night. See! What a bargain trip!
