Surfers Paradise is a resort town with a sleazy feel, but that is its major drawcard. The nightlife is pumping until 5-6 in the morning with a huge range of clubs and a casino.
During the day you can hang around the beach all day. It is probably one the best spots to people watch. You also have games arcades and theme parks in the area for all ages.
It is also just a short drive to Mount Tambourine a small town with many boutique shops that makes for an excellent day trip.

Dream World is very similar to Movie World....the one thing that made this one stand out though, was Tiger Island - really just an enclosure where they have tiger shows and things like that. It was great. Then it was back on the rickety old crazy bus for a death defying trip home! …

I spent a week in Surfers Paradise hitting the beach as well as driving down to Byron Bay in NSW and also exploring Gold Coast hinterland.
