Dream World is very similar to Movie World....the one thing that made this one stand out though, was Tiger Island - really just an enclosure where they have tiger shows and things like that.  It was great.  Then it was back on the rickety old crazy bus for a death defying trip home!  Luckily we did live to tell the tale :)

I knew the Gold Coast was going to be good. I knew there were 4 awesome theme parks and golden beaches and warm weather. But OMG! What an excellent place.  People say kiwis are friendly, but they don't come close to Queenslanders. The trip started at the crack of dawn, we got a 7am flight from Wellington to Brisbane. Perhaps I'm being a but harsh - Surfers is much nicer than Blackpool, but it's a real sea-side town with a similar vibe, but much nicer people, restaurants, beaches and things to do!   We arrived mid afternoon on the Greyhound from Byron, and had, if memory serves, already booked a night at the Surfers Paradise Backpackers Resort (to give it it's full name) on the Gold Coast Highway.
