Surfers Paradise as its name suggests is a paradise, but not just only for surfing i, think too for tourism, is just only one part of the Gold Coast which is an incredible stretch of beach stretching from "The Spit" up "Coolangatta.During my stay in Surfers Paradise take advantage of knowing s…

This time it was a more "civilized" hour to be woken by the alarm: 7:00am, followed by the 8:00am breakfast and a 9:00am departure from the hotel, going to Moreton Island for 2 nights. It was another nice, sunny day. Barely any clouds and a nice temperature of around 23 degrees.
Our first stop fo…

Dream World is very similar to Movie World....the one thing that made this one stand out though, was Tiger Island - really just an enclosure where they have tiger shows and things like that. It was great. Then it was back on the rickety old crazy bus for a death defying trip home! …

This morning Kati and I woke up at 8am and after meeting up with Anton and Mike at breakfast, we made our way down to the beach. The sand is white and the waves a huge. We were told to swim between the red and yellow flags because it's the area protected by the lifeguards and there is a better chan…

Lying on the beach in Surfers Paradise I’m watching some Japanese tourists being swept away by high and unpredictable waves. They scream as if a tsunami had just hit them.
The sand is floury. I feel like on drugs. Surfers Paradise looks as if God had a crap here. Const…

I knew the Gold Coast was going to be good. I knew there were 4 awesome theme parks and golden beaches and warm weather. But OMG! What an excellent place. People say kiwis are friendly, but they don't come close to Queenslanders. The trip started at the crack of dawn, we got a 7am flight from Wel…

After reaching Surfers Paradise (and damaging the car by scraping a totally innocent pole…) we decided to take it easy for a day. Pretty hard to do that in Surfers, since there’s partying all night long, especially during Indy Car weekend. Not that we’re the real party types anyway, but the n…

Perhaps I'm being a but harsh - Surfers is much nicer than Blackpool, but it's a real sea-side town with a similar vibe, but much nicer people, restaurants, beaches and things to do!
We arrived mid afternoon on the Greyhound from Byron, and had, if memory serves, already booked a nigh…

Hi people, from Byron Bay, we headed for Surfers Paradise. Once we
arrived we checked into Main Beach Caravan Park, the only site in the
area which was roughly 4km from the Town Centre. We took the long walk
into Town thinking it would only take 15 mins but more like 40 mins,
never realised how…

I travel overseas so often it always seems like I am on holidays when I arrive home.
I like to arrange home exchanges with people in other countries, it works really well, I have a luxuy home on the waterfront, you can can fish off the jetty.
Interested? check out the photos, you would have the top floor of my house to yourself, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms with a private entrance. If you want to check the location on Google maps the address is 106 Upton St Bundall, QLD Australia 4217.
