Surfers Paradise Beach Reviews
Surfers Paradise Beach Aug 21, 2011
Surfers Paradise beach is claimed to be the most famous beach (in Gold Coast, and in the world). It has clean yellow sand alongside the Pacific Ocean. It has higher concrete pathway as well for pedestrians, and the path is made more interesting with the public restrooms decorated with old photos from different times, telling the history of Surfers Paradise. Open showers and drinking fountains are also abundant. The sand and water area was not that crowded that afternoon, because of the weather. The Surfside buses pass the Esplanade Street pretty often. Within a short walk across the Cavill Mall street, which is perpendicular to the Esplanade, located the large shopping centre such as Centro, Circle on Cavill, Chevron Renaissance Centre, and also the entertainment centres such as ‘Infinity Attraction’, Hard Rock Café, Ripley’s Museum, and countless cafes and pubs. Inside Centro is the shops, cafes, chemist, Woolworth (large store mainly for groceries), and also the shooting academy. On Wednesday and Friday they also have night markets along the pathway next to the beach.
Standing in the middle of Surfers Paradise beach, one side is of course the water front, the opposite side is the view of high rise buildings (mostly hotels and apartments) and busy Esplanade street. Gold Coast has been dubbed as ‘Miami’ in Australia. The sandy area itself is occupied by serious runners and walkers, dogs, volley ball fan, and of course the life guards. Watch for the swimmers flag code, the life guards use them to indicate the safe swimming spots, or whether not to swim at all.
