NOTE: Anthony Bourdain was in this place while he was visiting and enjoying delicious tastes of Turkish cuisine in Istanbul. Check out from youtube.

It was Fall-2003, when I explored this great restaurant, and since then I cannot stay away from them.
Sur means "Wall of the Castle" in Turkish, and this place gets its name from the Castle of Diyarbakır, a southeastern city. The owners of this restaurant has came from that city, and the owner (also the chef cook) told me about his past as a shepherd. Because of that he knows about the good meat and how to grill it!
Anyway, if you go this place (you must go!), if the weather is nice, have a table outside first. Then start with a traditional lentil soup, or çiğköfte. You can also try içliköfte (like kibbi, but way better!) if you like. Then order your main dish. I strongly recommend you should have their special 'Sur' kebab, which contains all of the kebabs as adana (spicy), urfa (not spicy), tavuk şiş (chicken skewered) and çöp şiş (lamb skewered). It comes with a large tray with mini-lahmacun (Turkish style pizza with minced beef), bulghur pilaf, special mashed salad, grilled tomatoes and peppers. Can you imagine that? I think you cannot, you should see this!!!
If you still have room for dessert in your stomach, you can try Künefe or their special Sur Dessert (semolina and ice-cream).
You can also try Sac Kavurma (braised meat) or Büryan Kebab. Actually, whatever you order, you'll like it!!!
At the end of your meal, traditional tea is complementary from the restaurant, like any other restaurant in Turkey. I love my country and the people's hospitality!!! :)
