Sunset Park Dec 30, 2008
Located a hop, skip and a jump away from the airport is Sunset Park. A well known park for locals that has a lot of acreage to cover! Fun things to do are: play tennis (small fee for courts but they are nice), basketball courts (usually pretty busy), baseball, softball, beach volleyball, swimming in the summer time, frisbee golf, dog park, lake area for fishing (not recommended but fun for jogging around) and of course plenty of kid play space. I actually learned how to swim at this park, awww the memories of being terrified of the high dive! Good place for picnics, family gatherings, good times and if you are lucky you might be able to check out random car shows or a medieval festival. Oh and watch out for the geese that live around the lake, they bite! If you are in town and need a break from the hotels it's a nice place to stop by for some exercise. I think I would stick to going in the day light hours though unless you are driving thru during Christmas time for the light festival they have. It's not the most well lit area when it's dark.
