Sunset Beach Resort Mar 29, 2008
Resort under the Sungroup-Langkawi establishment, as I was impressed with the restaurants, cafe and bar, I wanted to try the resort.
The place is a nice and serene resort with a beach front, from the entrance is a small reception and a lounge area complete with books over a fish pond, walk through the beautiful landscaped path lined with flower and fruit trees to the chalets, and after the pebbled-rock fountain and pond is the breakfast area overlooking beach view and the coconut tree-shaded lounge area at the beach. The massage area is on the beach. We stayed at Sunset II room, reasonably priced (RM190 / USD60), is spacious, clean and comfortable, bathroom is simple and ordinary. The rooms and resort is decorated with traditional and exotic artworks. This place is cozy and homely compared to the classy and finely decorated restaurants. The staff are friendly and service is personalized, the best part is that even though we've checked-out, we were offered towel to shower later when we picked our bags before our flight at night. The shower with rock-lined wall has a skylight, gives it a feel of outdoor, also for washing off after hitting the beach. This place does not have pool, as the water features in the other establishment is fascinating, it would be nice to imagine how the pool would be. Overall, we were pleased and contented with the resort. Part of the Malaysia - Rasa Sayang travel blog |
