Clean, in a good location, but hard to find and basic. Feb 19, 2012
Not a bad place, on a quiet street with clean rooms.

I'd recommend if you just need a basic, not bad place to stay and want to be in the middle of Si Lom (also spelled Silom on maps, but Si Lom on trains).

Nearly impossible to find though, it's in a weird tunnel-like alley between a bunch of small factories and male massage parlors - we literally spent an hour, a block away, dragging giant backpacks around looking for it. It's actually really close to the Metro, once you find it... which you never will...

Security is good as far as card entry and 24-hour staff at the front desk, but the room has only a cheesy locking doorknob with a big gap. Taught Z how to open it with a credit card in less than a second. We didn't even need the bulky key.

"Superior Balcony" upgrade was funny, about a meter wide, a meter from the building next door and someone's window, and completely enclosed in a wire, bamboo, and barbed wire cage : ) There's a chair on it.
Hostel is in this weird tunnel off…
Lobby and front desk
Wi-Fi in rooms, cool internet stat…
An equally strange common area bet…

Affordable and convenient location in the city. Mar 15, 2011
We were meant to stay at Sunflower Place for just 2 night while in Bangkok and figured, that once we're familiar with the area, we'll head out and look for other cheaper accommodations but we changed our minds after checking out the other budget places. For less than 1000 baht a night, Sunflower Place is amazing. Friendly staff, accommodative and very very helpful. It helps too that the place is exceptionally clean and comfortable.

You may find it a bit hidden but if you follow the directional map, you'll most definitely get there without much trouble.

With Patpong Market, the BTS Skytrain and food markets nearby, you'll find little reason to want to head out far. Pay local prices instead of 10 to 15 baht more at the more 'touristy' place. You'll find anything and everything you want at the night stalls set up on the main Silom Road night Market.
