Entertainment and Food in Sundance Square May 12, 2010
Sundance Square is a 22-square block dining and entertainment area in traditional downtown Fort Worth. Downtown Fort Worth has been redeveloped as an attractive showcase for live music and theatre, restaurants, clubs and bars, and shopping. It certainly pulls people in, locals and visitors alike. The Sundance Sqaure area was full of peopls on weeknights when most American downtowns are empty.

Restaurants include local as well as national chain establishemnts. Two theatre companies and the Bass Performance Hall are located here as is the Sid Richardson Musuem (Western art). Live outdoor music takes palce, too. At the center of Sundance Square is the Chisholm Trail Mural painted on the side of the Jett Building.

Sundance Square is named for the Sundance Kid, the legendary Western outlaw. I like the way old buildings have bene restored and new ones built to blend in with them to form the entertainment district.

When you are in Fort Worth, you'll defintely want to come here during the day and at night. It's a short walk from the major hotels and teh COnvention Center or there is the free Molly the Trolley shuttle.

Sundance Square Oct 27, 2008
Located in Downtown Fort Worth, Sundance square was developed by the billionaire Bass family. Their vision was to bring nightlife and residents into downtown which untill then was strcktly used for commercial business which after 5 pm was shut down. It was a slow start in the early '90ish. By the turn of the 21 first century (only 8 years ago) that area had become a role model for Dallas, Houston and many other metropolitan cities. Today it has the Bass Hall Performance Centre, which is highly famous. There are thousands of condo's and apartments and endless restaurants and bars some of which I have written reviews on. There are numurous festivals. The Arts Festival is the largest in the southwest with over 450 vendors 5 stages and great street food. On the weekends it is packed with thousands of people hopping from one club to another. Private police on bycicles keep this area extremely safe. Sometimes they also patrol on horses. Jazz cafe's, rooftop restaurants or a lounge build in a old bank vault in a cellar are some of the all to common unique places you will run into. There are plenty of hotels in this area and is highly recommended for your stay in Ft. Worth. Museums are only a 5 minute taxi ride away. with the Modern museum being the newest and highly acclaimemd for it architecture and beautifull master pieces. all museums are next to each other which makes it very convenient.
