The Sun Inn Sep 19, 2010
The Sun Inn is a fantastic gastropub (posh pub) in Scotland, very close to Edinburgh.

The pub does excellent food, and makes quite a thing about local sourcing of the ingredients. It shows in the quality; I went with six people and all of us loved our food. Most of the food leans towards the traditional. Although there are a few more exotic attempts at curry, you're more likely to end up with a roast or some form of fish. But I am a huge fan of British food done well, and the meals here are wonderful.

The pub itself is nicely decorated and cozy, and there are nice things to drink. Children are welcome until 8pm, which is not universal in Scotland.

I really liked the Sun, and would go back.

Alas, no. Not until the rugby season gets under way. And I'm going to have to stop joking completely if it makes Eric shut threads down!
