Sultanhanı Caravanserai Nov 12, 2009
Caravanserais were built all over North Africa, Asia and South-Eastern Europe, especially between IX-XVI century. Sultanhanı Caravanserai was ordered by Seljuk Sultan Alaeddin Keykubad (Kayqubad I), and build in XIII century (1229 - 1278). It was built with a rectangular shape, with only one gate, but large enough even for a large animals and vehicles to enter. In Sultanhanı Caravanserai you can see separate living rooms, a room with separate hamams for men and women, some kitchen facilities, and places where one could feed his animals. It was popular especially among merchants who had to travel long distance with a lot of goods.

The entrance fee is 3Lira (which is about 1,5 Euro) so I think it's worth to see the place
