Suitehotel Marrakech

May not be the cheapest, listed on here at $89, and we paid about £38 a night, but that was for four of us.Part of a French chain of hotels, and looks like they have loads in France but are expanding now.

Really smart hotel, about 10 minutes by taxi from the airport. Just outside the medina wall,and 10-15 minute walk to the heart of the action in Jamma El Fna. Very quiet however in the area around the hotel.

Very new,nice reception area,24 hour security. Free use of pool and gymnasium and has bag storage facilities.

Cafe/bar beside the pool, that was very popular in the hottest part of the day. Bar shut at 12pm, but at least a chance to grab a couple of beers each night :-)

There is no restaurant in the hotel, though the lounge/bar area is used for breakfast.

The rooms are spacious. We had a double bed, a single made up, and another that was pulled out from under the bed. Writing desk/table and chairs in each room. All rooms were air conditioned and had a fridge and a microwave.Bath and shower were seperate from toilet.

Although there was no restaurant, there was food available 24 hours,kept in fridges in the reception, variety of sanwiches and stuff you could cook in the microwave. Handy if arriving late or leaving very early.There were a couple of restaurants just around the corner on the way to the medina.

Two lifts to take you up to your rooms,though it isn't a monstrosity, think it was just the 5 floors. On the right of the lift (when facing it) on each floor is an ironing room,if you want to look particularly smart for any reason.

To top it all off, free internet on PC in the lobby,free wi-fi if you have your own laptop,or failing that access to the internet via TV in your room. Used that a few times to update this site on my travels

Of all the places we stayed while we were away(and we stayed here twice) this was my favourite.I thought it was a great place for folk travelling about to stay,especially if you can split it between 3 or 4 people.

Short of working for them and getting paid to promote them, I don't think I could reccommend it any more highly, and any time I travel in future I'm going to check out if they have a place there.
