Sugar Palm Grand Hillside Hotel Phuket

its being over-rated as so called 4-star hotel as its not even qualified to be 1-star hotel. the deco of the room is quite new but it does not qualified to being given 4-star hotel as the staff there are with "don care" attitude! and if i am not mistaken, their vision is "we mind what you mind" or something like that. we have to wait for the staff for some time to bring us and our luggage up the hill and they are not willing to do so at all. n the worst is they expect us to give them tips! i ve been to 5-star hotel and their attitude is not like that at all! they said thai ppl are very friendly but after the stay in this hotel, it changes my mindset of thai ppl. they are rude and not friendly. the staff here are not competent and poor english speaking and not helpful.
the buffet breakfast was not bad but it will be good if there are labels. more choices of thai food will be better.
we were asked by the receptionist if we wanted a cab from hotel, which they do provide to go aiport the next day we check out and it costs 1000baht. we knew outside will be cheaper so we asked if they could help us call outside cab. guess what? the staff said she dont know the number to call and if we knew, we can call from our room (of course it will cost $ to call out). its just like ppl asking if you know the emergency no to call and you said dont know?!?! isnt this far too much from a 4-star hotel service?!?!??!? this is ridiculous! i will not recommend to ppl who wants to go there for relaxation as the hotel is not value for money and most of all, the staff is rude and not friendly. i think they have been keep saying there are upgrading on the spa so we couldnt use them. but it has been for months now and still upgrading?!?!!? is there spa or not???
also when we were there, there was renovation / construction going on. how come this was not even mentioned in the website????!?! its so fake!

A great place to stay-fantastic staff,food and rooms! Highly recommended.
