Suchindram Temple Reviews
Temple with architectural statues Feb 05, 2012
Suchindram temple is dedicated to Sri Sthanumalayan. Sthanu represents God Siva, Mal represents Go Vishnu and Ayan represents Brahma. Siva, Vishnu and Brahma in one idol. Suchindrum is the place where God Indra attained Suchi, purification.
As per the details in one of the temple walls, when the Trimurthys (Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva), came down to the earth to test the chastity of Anasuya, wife of muni Athri at Gnana Aranya, they were changed to babies by Anasuya and put them craddle in the process of accepting their request. This misadventure made the gods to suffer a surse form Anasuya and to undergo the purification process, before they could be restored to their former glory. We can see the dried tree where the cradle were tied in this temple. This misadventure made the gods to suffer a surse form Anasuya and to undergo the purification process, before they could be restored to their former glory.
This temple represents the work of very skilled persons from earlier number of centuries. This complex have many beautiful statues. We can hear music (different sounds) from the rock pillars by tapping them inside the temple.
This temple is definitely one of the divine places in India.
