I am a bit touched on lighthouses, perhaps dating to my childhood visits to Smeaton Tower (review) in Plymouth. It was the knowledge that there was a small lighthouse there that first too us to Strumble Head. I suppose I should still regard that as a sufficient reason for going but it's by no means the only one.

There are so many excellent seascapes in Pembrokeshire that I am not prepared to make comparisons but I will say that I cannot imagine myself ever going to Pembrokeshire and not coming here. Turn left as you face the sea and follow the coast, with a carpet of thrift at the right time of year until you see the minute beach of Pwll Deri way below you.
