Strofilia – Wine bar Sep 12, 2009
My friend Maxime and I had put our mind up to an attack on some wine bars in the centre of Brussels. We had met a bit earlier that evening in one of our favourite bars; the Walvis. We had stayed there for around one hour before we wanted to check out the neighbouring streets and their offers.
Maxime had walked by this restaurant and wine bar many times he had never been there before. From outside Strofilia it looked like a trendy place with trendy people. The interior was kept in a mix between the very stylistic and cosy. We walked to the bar and said that we only came for tasting their wine; they looked surprised and then we looked the same! Was this not a wine bar as well; it was stated in the entrance! Well you can get some wine just take a seat next to the entrance where we just came from. Five minutes later the waiter came down and we asked what they would recommend? Well we hardly sell any wine by the glass, he said! Well bring us a good glass red wine if you have we replied. We got a fairly good glass of Greek red wine but this was absolutely not a wine bar as they had stated at the entry Part of the Belgium, Brussels and more 2006-2009 and still counting travel blog |
