Noisy, but great if you like motorcycles!! May 15, 2011
Reno has for a really long time been home to a wide variety of “special events”, trying to do its best to draw crowds not only to the large number of casino hotels, but to earn as many tourist dollars as they can. For nearly twenty years the city has been host to “Street Vibrations”, a gathering of motorcycles from all over the country. The event is now rated as the 4th largest in the nation. For five days they basically take over not only the main Virginia Street downtown, but the Victorian Square area of Sparks, and much of Virginia City and even Lake Tahoe. Reno Harley Davidson is also heavily involved. There are things to see and do for nearly everyone from about 9am til 9pm and they include live music on several stages, vendors of all kinds, how slow can you go contest, wet t-shirt contest, a burn out pit, biker babe dunk tank, live music, a poker run, tattoo expo, swimsuit and chaps contest, a stunt show, and more live music. It does tend to get a little noisy in Reno during this week, but the bikes are a blast to look at (and so are some of the girls).

Check the internet for the scheduled dates for this year.
