Clean and affordable Jul 04, 2008
We stayed at this hotel because we find a website that offered discounts on Vegas Hotels. It was nice hotel and we only spent like $40 a night. The rooms were pretty clean mostly because they were going through a renovation. They had various suites and package offers. We choose the Tower and it had a pretty incredible view of the strip. This hotel is very far north on the strip, so walking the strip is ok, but I recommend you park at another hotel and then walk out. Most parking is free everywhere you go, so it makes it pretty convenient.
They gave us some pretty good coupons when we arrived. Like all casinos in Vegas, they want you to spend your money there. We didn't spend much time in this hotel, mostly to sleep and that is what I recommend one to do, just sleep there. The beds were not as comfortable as some hotels, but for $40 a night, it was well worth it. Parking is a free, but you will have to walk a ways to get to the hotel. They do have nightlife, but we skipped it for strolls down the strip. There at least 2 pools, but we didn't use them. One of the nice things about this location is there is a big gift shop/store right near the front entrance. Pretty cheap and convenient. There was also a gas station that sold great donuts and pastries. We went there a couple of times. There are various bars along with the casino, so it makes for a good and affordable trip. I would say check out the Vegas discount websites before booking directly with the hotel. |

Location Sucks, but everything else is pretty good! Mar 03, 2003
I was surprised that I actually liked my stay at the Stratosphere. When Margo and I stayed there, we chose it because it was one of the cheaper hotels on The Strip. I believe you get what you pay for, so my expectations were not high.
But, our room, was clean, comfortable and roomy. Our King bed was comfortable, and we were able to find our way around the hotel pretty quickly. I have heard some horror stories about the older part of the hotel. I believe, but don’t know, that we were in the newer section. We had decent luck with the slot machines, which makes things better. The location on the strip does leave quite a bit to be desired. It is way on the northern end, and only technically on The Strip. It is not walking distance to anywhere except The Sahara. Even that is bit much. Also, you don’t want to venture any farther north, at night, on foot. The neighborhood becomes a bit iffy. As we rented a car, the location did not matter to us. But, if you plan to use your feet as your mode of transportation, I would not recommend this hotel. Part of the Las Vegas--2003 travel blog |

Fantastic Deal Mar 08, 2009
When I was searching for a hotel to stay at in Las Vegas, my husband suggested the Stratosphere because it is really cheap. The hotel is locted on the strip, however it is at the very end, making it a long walk if you want to do some of the other things along the strip. However, the value of staying at the Stratosphere will completely make up for it. At first, I just booked a room with a view, and it was only foing to cost $40(USD). Once we got there, the front desk clerk offered us an upgrade to a honeymoon suite for just $50 more. Even with the upgrade, this was still cheaper than the other hotels we stayed at on our trip. We had a room with a view, a king size bed, living room area, and the biggest bathroom I've ever seen in a hotel room. It even had a 2 person jacuzzi that was in the middle of the room.
All guests at the hotel get to go to the top of the Stratosphere for free. Also, they just remodeled all the rooms last year, so they are much more modernized now. Part of the 2 Week Vacation travel blog |

Stratosphere Aug 16, 2008
It was my first visit to Vegas and my main reason for visiting the Stratosphere was for the rides up top.....good or bad??
If you park in the garage you have to walk thru the casino to the front desk to check in then walk back thru the casino to the elevators. The room was ok. The bathroom was large and clean and the beds were very comfortable. The air worked great and so did the TV. If you want wireless internet it will cost you $11.99 a day...boo!! I had my USB broadband connection. There was no fridge in the room...:(( Our room was a few stories above the air conditioner for the building. There was a winding noise all night long. It was just average. We did not spend much time at all in the room so I guess it wasn't to bad. It's at the south end of the strip. Next time we are going to try Caesars, Flamingo, or Harrahs, they are in the middle of the strip. Part of the Viva Las Vegas travel blog |

We stayed here 5 years ago so I'm sure things have changed greatly- like the view! My two complaints about this hotel are: while it is conveniently located on The Strip it is soooooo far from the other hotels/casinos/attractions! We had to get a taxi to the Venetian and start our walking from there. My other complaint was the view! I'm sure this has changed since we were there- but ugh! The view from our room was a vacant lot and the roof of one of the lower parts of the hotel with the air conditioning unit in full view. At night it was nice because you couldn't see anything but the lights but during the day it was hideous and definitely made you want to get out of there. It was inexpensive for a Vegas hotel because we went out of peak season but I would upgrade to a better hotel next time for the location alone.

Getting High in Vegas Nov 13, 2007
Stratosphere is located at the North end of the strip and a little inconvenient to get to but it's really just a monorail ride away from the center and so the distance shouldn't be an excuse to pass it up. After all, it has roller coasters on it's rooftop! I was sold on that. And they are awesome. These things throw you off the edge of the tower or up in the air above the rooftop. Awesome. We also had a really good room, simply because of the level it was on. The view was incredible.

We stayed at the Stratosphere for our first time ever in Vegas so I can't really compare it to any other hotels yet in Vegas. We really liked this hotel though. The only think I didn't care for was the location but I knew it was out of the way when I booked it so I can't complain too much about it!
We ate at three of the restaurants in the hotel, Roxy's Diner which is a 50's style themed restaurant, Naga Chinese Express which is a Chinese restaurant and sushi bar, and then at the Top of the World restaurant which is the revolving restaurant at the top of the tower. Roxy's and Naga were very reasonably priced with great atmosphere and very friendly staff. Top of the World is expensive but so worth it for the view and the food. The wait staff there was also very pleasant. Our room was on the 23rd floor out of 24 floors and they have an outdoor pool area that is fantastic! It is surprisingly a very large and kind of confusing hotel at first but we ended up just walking around and exploring, we became very comfortable getting around after the first day. The check in and check out went very smoothly with no complications. We also got into the nightclub located inside for free with our room key, it was an awesome nightclub and would definately go back to it!1 Next time we go to Vegas I would stay here again, but probably won't as there is so much more to see!! i stayed in vegas for a few days about 3 years ago for my cousin's wedding. it was a great trip but i actually stayed in the hotel most of the time i was there. the stratosphere is not on the strip, so keep that in mind. actually it technically IS on the strip, but its not as close to the other casinos as i thought. it's the only one actually in vegas.. the others are in an area called 'paradise'. if you want to leave the hotel and go visit other casino's or clubs, some people might not want to walk that far. otherwise i loved the hotel.
it's one of the tallest buildings in the world. on the top of the tower, they have a revolving restaurant, a roller coaster, another ride or two and an observation deck at about 850-1100 feet in the air... (they are not all on one floor). and the casino was cool. i won a few big hands of three card poker when i was there. also.. that restaurant is amazing but the prices are STEEP... bottles of voss water were $6 i think and for six people i think the bill came out to about $300 for regular dinner plates... nothing fancy. the rooms however are often very cheap compared to most hotels i've been to ... they still send me emails for $29 per night deals. so for that reason i am keeping the money rating at $$$... i'd go back there anytime. |

We stayed here Dec 05 for a week - booked as a trip via expedia. Large hotel with plenty of entertainment facilities - shopping floor, shops, theatre, restaurants.
Luckys diner - was great for brunch breakfasts - including dunkin donuts doughnuts! The casino was always busy but you not crowded - though smoky! Trying to get a waitress to take your drink order and then bring it back to you can take a while! The rooms were standard American sized with all the usual facilities -TV, hairdryer etc. Beds Queens sized comfortable enough - not much more to say on that! The revolving restaurant did a great lunch and moved slowly and gave a good view of the strip. Situated at the bottom end of the strip and quite a walk to the main sites though the Deuce bus stops right outside so you can buy a day ticket to shuttle you up and down the strip and to Freemont Street - for the light experience. For those thrill seekers some of the most scary rides l have ever witnessed are on top of the tower! Didnt watch any of the shows but American Look-likes - Britney, Michael Jackson, Tina Turner - plays along with some erotica style show! Decent hotel - location not the greatest on the strip BUT because of the public transport this didnt cause any problems. |

It is a very impressive hotel in the outside but inside it is not that spectacular. The rooms are ok, I personally liked the Luxor Hotel more than that. But it is true that the tower is amazing and the views from there are the best ones in the city. They also have a restaurant overviewing the city. If you don´t stay in the hotel I strongly recommend to reserve a table there. The restaurant moves in circles, so you end up seeing the whole city. From there you can take great pictures of the Streep. Don´t remember very well, but the restaurant was not too expensive, although coming with euros it is never too expensive. By the way, reserve a table in advance.
Although you only see the tower in the pictures, the rooms are not actually there, they are in a building next to the tower. Overall a good hotel. Part of the Las Vegas travel blog |

We wandered through the Stratosphere hotel and down to Circus Circus, where we watched people play on the arcades before watching one of the free shows. It was a very flexible lady that did balancing acts. To be honest I wasnt very impressed, most of her act consisted of posturing… Viva Las Vegas |
