Stratford-upon-Avon is located in the Warwickshire countryside of England on the banks of the Avon River. It is here where the great poet and playwright, William Shakespeare was born...and also where he died. The Shakespeare Visitor Centre starts the tour of the museum area and the house where Shakespeare was born in. Other sites in Stratford-Upon-Avon are included in the ticket price which includes entrance to John Nash's house (…

Today is castle and Shakespeare day! We left around 10 in the morning, took the train and went to Warwick Castle. Upon entering the castle's ground, my cousins noticed that there are festivities going on. They were there few months earlier and at that time the castle's ground was empty. Today, there are different tents, and if I can describe it clearly, they are re-living the medieval times.. There were knights in medieval costumes, people are cooking the way peop…

Stratford-Upon-Avon, right in the heart of England, famous for being both William Shakespeare's birth place and for it's historical buildings. An extremely pleasant place on a hot summers day and very busy.

The small town Stratford-Upon-Avon is popular thanks to William Shakespeare, who was born there in 1564. Shakespeare is a poet I studied at school, and such an important person in English culture. Moreover Stratford-Upon-Avon has the reputation to be a nice typical English town. That is why I decided to go there today, for the early afternoon.
We arrived at noon, in the market. It took us only took us 5 minutes to go around, nothing really special about it, just a time to take…

For breakfast, I made myself some eggs and crumpets (known to Americans as, “English muffins”) and left with the receptionist a load of laundry to wash. With my dirty clothes queued behind linens, I posed for a photo by Shakespeare’s Birthplace (from the outside, as admission to it and the other “Shakespeare houses” was outrageously priced), which he occupied 1564-1616.
In search of free internet access, I entered the village library, but the one computer was booked f…

In a nutshell, this trip encompassed London, Oxford, Stratford, Snowdonia National Park (Wales), Holyhead, Dublin and the Ring of Kerry.
All of my photos have been added, so now I'm slowly but surely adding blogs to my entries in a very random fashion...

The London Parade Festival takes place once a year in, you guessed it, London, England. It is a series of musical events -- a Gala Concert at Wembley's Grand Hall, Mayoral Concerts, and other musical performances. In my junior year in High School, Arroyo High, the marching and concert bands were invited to perform.

For my first transatlantic trip, I spent two weeks touring England and Scotland. We had the opportunity to explore the cities but also to enjoy the serenity of both countries landscapes.

On this trip to England and Wales, My mom and I focused on finding the unspoiled. Although we visited many tourist hot spots, we drove across the country in search of the unique sides of London, Stratford-upon-Avon, Hay-on-Wye, Bath, and more.

On the Sunday we went to Stratford-Upon-Avon, the birth place of William Shakespeare. We met up with some more friends and we visited Ann Hathaway's cottage which is the pre-marital home of William Shakespeare's wife Ann. We didn't do much other sight seeing but we did enjoy lunch in the town and sat by the river and had a drink at the local pub! Following our weekend in Northampton we headed back to Shropshire.

Statford-upon-avon is our next stop and the first stop is Ann Hathaway’s cottage for a quick picture stop. We also gather together for a “Tour picture”, you know, with all the travelers in one shot. I think they sold three of them out of nearly forty.
In the downtown area we stopped to see where Shakespeare was born. Our tour paid for our entry through the museum, home, etc., but we didn’t enjoy it very much. The town has grown up so much around it that we hav…
