Stovepipe Wells motel Death Valley Reviews
Sleeping in the middel of Death Valley Sep 28, 2010
This motel is part of the Xanterra organisation, the company that manages the hotels in the National Parks. They do a really good job.
This hotel is nicely located in the heart of Death Valley National Park. The inside is just like any other basic but clean motel. And yes (!) it has an air conditioning which is an absolute must. It does NOT have a TV or phone, although it offers rooms with TV for a higher rate.
It offers plenty free parking space, a gift shop, a large pool, an (expensive) gas station and a general store. Complimentary continental breakfast is also included. At this time the restaurant of the site is out of order so the nearest location for a dinner is in Furnace Creek, about 20 minutes driving.
The hotel is rather expensive, but given the unique experience of staying in one of the hottest places in the US, it is still a good deal. Highly recommended!
Note: In order to stay in the hotel you need to purchase the entrance fee of the National Park, or bring a parks pass.
