Ston Overview

Ston, a small medieval town on the Pelješac Peninsula, is famous for the longest stone wall in Europe (5,5 km), the second largest wall in the world. The walls were built after 1333 when the town became the part of the Republic of Ragusa( Dubrovnik) with purpose to defend the Republic, the peninsula and profitable salt pans.
