After 10 years twiddling my thumbs in Birmingham I'm now 9 months into a grand journey around this wonderful & widest of worlds! Now recovering in Cyrpus after finishing 'Phase 1' it's time to face my toughest challenge yet... changing nappies! In the meantime please catch my prior adventures and smile away if you'd be so kind :)

Having finally decided to give scuba-diving a go in February this year the time had finally come to put my lessons to the test and so I joined my diving club's trip to the Scottish Western Isle of Mull, specifically the beautiful and quaintt harbour village of Tobermory. In just one week I saw and experienced things that completely blew my mind! This was my first ever sea diving, and I just can't wait to get out into the wider world and see what lies just a few metres below the sea.

Come about the 4th September later this year I will have been living in Birmingham for exactly 10 years! "My word", the first decade of my so-called 'adult life'. Time for a change of scenery I feel. And so it is, that in 6 weeks or so from now I will depart both beloved Brum AND the UK for adventures in foreign climes. I've quit the job, the car's for sale and I'm vaccinated up to the hilt, but before I leave it all behind some thoughts of home I think.

Lake District, England, UK -› -› …
Sometimes I think it's easy to take for granted the pleasures, the travel-treasures and the beauty spots that exist on your very own doorstep, so in February, with this in mind, I decided to take a long overdue trip to the beautiful English Lake District in Cumbria, north-west England to see a little slice of my own country I had heard so much about.

Wow! Rarely in my life have I gained so much in such a short space of time. 10 days in New York, with all the warmth of the people, the picture-postcard perfect snow when it fell and the crisp chill air to accompany the blue Christmas skies was really one of the most rewarding trips I have ever experienced! Museums beyond imagination, the sights, the art & culture and of course THE FOOOOOD... all blew me away. Get out there people, it lived up to the hype for me. I gotta get back there!
