Sternbräu Salzburg Reviews
Nice traditional Austrian food Sep 12, 2012
We had just arrived in the very wet Saltzburg where we had managed to get a room just outside the old town. Our first goal was to find something to eat without getting too wet. We entered one of the many narrow walking streets and ended in a backyard with a sign that stated that there were a restaurant and that it was a part of a brewery, something that we found quite interesting.
The place was really old fashion , it was actually as we had walked in to a place that had not changed in 80 years or so. The headwaitress was in the tradition Tyrol clothing in blue and black. We were surrounded by elderly Americans or tour and some elderly Austrian couples that probably were eating there almost every day.
We quickly ordered a couple of their own produced beers while we checked out the menu. We quickly decided on the soup of today as it had been pretty cold walikng in the rain. As main course we both ended up ordering Phefferrumpsteks with additional salad. We ordered a local wine to go along with the meat and it was a bottle of their housewine that was okay. I ended my dinner with a Sachertorte and a glass of their best Spätlese that was a wonderful.
