Steigenberger Nile Palace Luxor Reviews
Egyptian Dancing Jan 21, 2010
There is free dancing nightly at the Steigenberger Nile Palace Hotel in Luxor. In their open air atrium, surrounded by shops & restaurants, you can sit for hours (from 8 to 10pm) and be entertained by local dance troupes. Food & drink can be ordered also at tables on the dance floor.
The folk dancers are a bit amateurish, but hang in there for the awesome belly dancing and the even more amazing whirling dervish. Be prepared for them to ask you to join them to dance! There is also a professional photographer who will sell photos - which is great since it's hard to capture the movement of the dancers and the lighting is difficult.
The hotel staff are very friendly and it's a pleasant way to unwind after a day of sightseeing.
For some reason, it is not advertised and most people in Luxor know nothing about it.
