Stayokay Rotterdam Reviews
Good location, but not so cosy Jun 06, 2012
Location: not so far away from all the attractions, but damn it took me a lot of time to get there from the train station!
Brakfast: really good, open-table style, great bread (one of the best i ever had!), coffee, tea, cereal, cheese and ham, nothing to complain about. for a small price you could get a lunch bag with food to go (sandwiches, juice, some other stuff i can't remember now).
Staff: can't really say, just got the room, stuffed my things in it, went to sleep and flew away next morning, but the guy at the front desk was really nice.
Cleanliness: all good, nothing to complain, fresh sheets, clean bathroom and dining room.
Pity there was no cosy common room or kitchen you could use. they even forbid you to bring your own food (as written in their policy), which is absurd. i got salad with me and no one said anything, so i think you don't have to worry about that.
this hostel is really big so there is no warm feeling to it, i prefer less modern places, more home-like style. But for one night (or if you're a loner and don't feel like bumping into people all the time) it was perfect.

Stayokay Rotterdam Overview
On 15 june 2009, Stayokay opened a new hostel in the centre of Rotterdam in the striking Cube Houses. These peculiar homes built on pylons were designed by the Dutch architect Piet Blom in 1984. The houses are located close to the Oude Haven, a historic area of the city bristling with bars, restaurants and cafes. Rotterdam is a city full of world-famous modern architecture, museums, trendy restaurants and speciality shops. The sky feels different here, the tempo faster and skyscrapers tower above you. Almost everything this port town has to offer is just a stone’s throw away from the hostel, e.g. the Kunsthal, Museum Boymans Van Beuningen, Rotterdam Zoo and the Netherlands Architecture Institute. Cross the Erasmus Bridge and enjoy the view of Rotterdam’s amazing skyline. Rotterdam is a city that you can never get enough of! Attention! When you book a double/twin room, the possibility exists that you will be staying in a 4 to 6 bed dorm. The remaining (bunk) beds will not be available for other guests. On arrival you will receive bed linen which you can use to make up your bed. Towels are for sale at reception as they aren't included. If you are interested in a made bed, you can contact the hostel for the possibilities. Stayokay offers free Wi-Fi. Business hours of reception:
Every day: from 07:00 to 23:30
