Staybridge Suites Knoxville Oak Ridge

Staybridge Suites is the newest hotel on the Oak Ridge lodging scene. It's a gem! The quality offered at Staybridge Suites would cost well over $200/night in any major city in the US. Thankfully, Oak Ridge is a small town, and rates at the Staybridge remain in the low-to-mid $100s/night.

The lobby is open and airy, with a fireplace, sitting area, high ceilings, and a mountain lodge feel.

Rooms are clean and bright, with modern, stylish decor--it's decorated exactly in my style, like I ultimately want my home to be decorated! Because the rooms are suites, each room has a kitchenette, with all modern appliances. The refrigerator is large, yet quiet, allowing for a good night's sleep. Rooms have a large, comfortable couch facing a 42" flat-screen HDTV. Large panel windows and light window dressings allow a lot of natural light to enter the room. Water pressure is high, and the bathrooms are spacious. The bed is high off the ground, above hip-level for me. It is firm, with a light down comforter and soft pillows.

The breakfast, included in the room rate, is impressive. There are a few hot entrees, and quite an assortment of cold cereals, muffins, danishes, yogurt, and fresh fruit. There is a snack, also included in the room rate, served around 5:00 p.m. on a few days per week. The snack can stand in for dinner, as it is usually an ample snack.

Free wifi is available throughout the hotel, and there is a little golf green in the back parking lot. An indoor pool, exercise facilities, and laundry facilities are also available.

This is one of the most expensive hotels in Oak Ridge, but the comfort, styling, and amenities make it worthwhile. If only I wasn't on a research grant budget for my business travels to Oak Ridge, I'd stay at the Staybridge every time!
