Small town civic charm Nov 16, 2011
Construction of the Town Hall started in 1872, and had been gradually expanded up until the clock tower was added in 1939. The clock tower is visible from most parts of town and apart from being a prominent part of the local skyline, it has a little gift for visitors who pass by at the right time.

A few minutes before 9am, 12pm, 3pm, 6pm and 9pm the clock plays the tune 'With a swag upon his shoulder'. Following that, are the Westminster chimes accompanied by the animation of the two figures at the bottom of the tower working a gold washing cradle.

Sure it's not the most exciting thing in the world, but it is worth a look if you are there at the right time.
