Stavanger Vacation Guide

Stavanger is one of the largest cities in Norway with around 140.000 people.
It still has very small town feel to it, as the city center is fairly small, with old white wooden houses and narrow streets.
Alot of oil related buisnesses have branches here, so there is an excellent but rather expensive variety of shops, restaurants and nightlife.
Stavanger, Sandnes and Sola together are going to be a European culture capital for 2008.

Every summer there are several festivals and events going on in the city, the most popular among these are the beach volleyball, and the food festival. for both of these events the streets are closed for traffic, and everyone will be in the city, if not to watch the volleyball or to taste the food, just to soak up the atmosphere of all the happy people.
