Statue of Molly Malone
Statue of Molly Malone Dublin Reviews
Essential part of Dublin Jun 10, 2011
At the beginning of Grafton Street you find the statue of famous Molly Malone. Molly Malone is not an actual person, she’s the subject of an old and popular song that has become the unofficial anthem of Dublin City. This song tells the fictional tale of the beautiful fishmonger called Molly Malone, she sold her fish on the streets of Dublin and died young of a fever.
Dublin may be full of statues of legendary people like James Joyce and Daniel O’Connell, but the statue of fictional Molly Malone is most famous. At every hour of the day it is surrounded by tourists who want to have their picture taken with Molly.
